Position: Most dwarf conifers grow well in a sunny or partially shaded position. Individual varieties may have different preferences.

Soil: Choose a well-drained soil. Avoid areas where water collects around the roots.

Planting: Carefully remove each plant from its 9cm nursery pot. Dig a hole slightly wider than the root ball and plant at the same depth as it was growing in the pot. Firm the soil gently and water thoroughly.

Watering: Keep plants watered while they establish, particularly during dry weather. Container-grown plants may need more frequent watering during warmer months.

Feeding: A suitable general-purpose fertiliser can be applied in spring, following the manufacturer’s instructions.
